“And the Mountains Echoed” by Khaled Hosseini was a book that taught me about the life of people in Afghanistan. It follows the life of a ten-year-old Afghani boy called Abdullah and his unbreakable and unconditional love for his sister Pari. Despite not being too rich, Abdullah and Pari live a pretty happy normal life. However, one day something happens and the siblings’ lives get torn apart. This was a pretty good book. It fits in the genres of realistic fiction and historical fiction. I would recommend it to people who like books that are on the longer side and which are a bit slow-paced. I felt it was mostly targeted towards ages 14+ because younger ages might not understand the content or find it too long. (Nina. Grade 8)
