All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is a romance book. This book is told from the perspective of the two main characters; Theodore Finch and Violet Markey. Theodore is mentally disturbed - he is depressed, anxious, bipolar, and suicidal - he describes bad days as ‘asleep’ and good days as ‘awake’. Violet Markey is a disheartened popular girl, with feelings of grief after the death of her sister, she is always counting down the days until graduation. Theodore and Violet meet each other one day, and they both start to develop feelings. I like this book because it has dark topics and romance in it, both of which I enjoy.

I recommend this book to 15+ because the book has topics such as mental illness, suicide, grief, sexual references, and cursing. (Mandalay. Grade 7)
