Affection, written by Ian Townsend tells the Story of two scientists trying to fight against a plague that has spread over the country like a giant shadow. The plague is spread by rats and fleas and forces the scientists to open a hospital just for the people infected with the sickness. Many people don't want to let go of their family members causing huge conflicts or even death. I would put this book under the genre of realistic fiction and would rate it 2.5/5 because at some parts it was really confusing and it didn't really interest me. (Enya. Grade 6)
