Wonder by R.J. Palacio is about a boy who was born with an abnormal face. After years of homeschooling, August Pullman is finally entering fifth grade in a public school. From there, everyone thinks Auggie is weird and he is bullied most of the time. He meets a boy called Jack and he shows empathy towards Auggie. This book is telling the story from each different perspective from a different chracter in the book. The genre of the novel is realistic fiction. I recommend this book to the ones who want a heart warming story. (Ahyun. Grade 7)

The realistic fiction book Wonder by R.J. Palacio is about a boy born with facial abnormalities. The plot begins with the main character, August, entering fifth grade in public school after being homeschooled his entire life. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as it has a heartwarming ending. However, there are a lot of heart-wrenching parts before that. I thought it was interesting that the book was told from multiple perspectives which allowed me to empathize with each of the characters and I could understand what they were feeling. This book was a real page-turner and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I also recognized how one of the themes, kindness, is extremely important these days. Overall, I think everyone should read this book because it addresses the issue of bullying and the impact it can have on someone who is different. (Seoyeon. Grade 7)

I read ‘Wonder’ by R. J. Palacio. The genre of this book is realistic fiction

I gave this book a rating of 5 because I really liked the story. The main character's face is disfigured and the book includes a lot of stories that happen because of his appearance. The interesting part of the book was that it was from the perspective of each character but about the same situation. By looking at different perspectives I could understand the feelings of each character. The storyline was a very realistic and heartwarming story that could’ve happened in real life. I couldn’t stop reading the book as it was very enjoyable to read. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. (Sebin. Grade 8)

The book I read is called 'Wonder' by R.J Palacio. I really like the book's lay out, which is in short chapters or parts of the story so it was really easy to read in my opinion. Also the point where I really liked was that the perspective or the point of view changes in each main chapters. The main character is called August Pullman and his appearance is different from other people, which made the whole story interesting. I think the genre of this book is realistic fiction because some people are different from other or don't have confidence about how they are and in this book it really shows the realistic reaction to it. I rated 3/5 because I felt a little boring for several chapters, but it's my opinion and it dosen't mean that the whole book it like that, I really like the main point of the the story. Overall I would recommend this book if you haven't read it yet. (Luna. Grade 8)
