I would recommend this book to anyone. El Corazon is about to be closed down, because they aren't receiving enough money to keep it open. Coco wants their shop to still be open because it has been there for 13 years now, she used to bake with her friend but he has became her enemy. When a poster appears she thought that El Corazon can still be opened through a dream she had about Ceiba tree calling for her. She entered the competition that was mentioned on the poster, and won along with her 'frenemy'. They set off to an adventure of finding the Ceiba Tree with white flowers on the roots of the tree, with their friend Gali, who is old and their guide through the Amazon Rainforest. What I liked about this book is how brave and bold she was (Coco) and how she bonded with her friend when they tried to find the Ceiba tree along with their new friend who guided their way to lots of Ceiba tree's. I really enjoyed this book, it is about chocolate-loving Coco. When donut delight opens across the street, her family’s chocolate shop is put out of business and is at the risk of being closed. A strange dream, as well as a contest with a prize, leads her and her friends on the adventurous journey of trying to save the Amazon jungle from deforestation. It has a nice touch of fantasy to it as well as adventure. Overall, the vocabulary was mostly ok, just a couple of words that I didn't understand. (Malena. Grade 8)

The story "The Tree of Dreams" is a wonderful and thoughtful book. I really enjoyed it and it has now become one of my favorites. It is about two kid's friendship, Leo and Coco and all the challenges they go through together. They set off on a trip to the Amazon to save a special tree called the Ceiba tree. The reason this tree is so important is because there are lots of loggers cutting down trees and spilling oil. In a dream, Leo, Coco and Isla , a girl from the tribe they are staying in, all have dreams about the Ceiba, so they set out on a journey to find the tree and save the Amazon. Will they be able to save the jungle ? Or is it too late... (Nina. Grade 7)

This book is great for people who care and want to help the environment. It has a lot about the Amazon Rainforest and what the main character Coco is doing to help solve deforestation. Some of the vocabulary was quite challenging but it should be good enough for students to understand. I definitely do recommend this book to other people who like to care for the environment.
