I read the thriller ‘Trash’ by Andy Mulligan. I gave this book a rating of 3 because I don’t really enjoy this genre. However, it was an interesting story about 3 boys who live in a dumpsite and the trouble that happens around them. It takes place in the Philippines and shows the lives of people living in extreme poverty. The book is divided into 3 sections and describes the life of each of the boys and their life in the slums, which was also interesting. The moral of the story is also good and it compares the realities that we are facing nowadays with the lives of people living in poverty. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading thrillers and don’t mind reading about violence. (Sebin. Grade 8)

Trash is an amazing book and it connects to politics, justice, suffering, mystery and danger. The ending was fantastic, the three characters in the book are so relatable and so lovable, even Big Gardo. Raphael is so full of that quite strength, and Jun-Jun is the best guide you could ever have. These three boys are just the bravest people in real life and in the story. I would recommend to all ages, young and old, male and female. (Maia. Grade 8)
