The book "Thirteens" by Kate Alice Marshall is an interesting book. When Eleonora moves too Eden Eld to live with her aunt and uncle, she starts to see weird things known as "the wrong things". She soon meets these two kids, Pip and Otto, who can also see "the wrong things" and they quickly become friends. Eleonora eventually finds out that every thirteen years, three kids who turn thirteen on Halloween are taken as a human sacrifice to an evil force. As it turns out, Eleonora, Pip and Otto are marked as the next sacrifice in line. The three friends will go thought many adventures to defeat "the wrong things" and escape from the sacrifice. This was a really good book, I particularly enjoyed the suspenseful ending that makes me want to read the continuation. I think this book is suitable for ages 10 and up because it might not be easy to understand or scary for younger ages. (Nina. Grade 7)
