The Witches by Roald Dahl is a book about a young boy who lives with his grandmother because his parents die of a tragic accident. The genre of this book is fiction The sad thing is that he doesn't know that he lives in a witch world with his grandmother. The witches spy on some kids in the neighborhood, and when the witch finds a kid she makes a big plan to feast on the kids to torture it. The grandmother's mission was to help all the children in England form the witches. The young boys grandmother teaches him about how to find out if someone is a witch or if they are a normal human beings. This book does not have hard vocabulary so I recommend this book to young readers such as grade 5-6. (Rudra. Grade 7)

So I actually read a book called The Witcher and not The Witches but I would say that the book I read is very simmilar to the ones on the list. It is about 350 pages long and has around 500-900 words on each page. It was written by a polish author named Andrzej Sapkowski. I beleive the book best fits into the action/adventure genre because of the setting, characters and story. The book is about a man named Geralt who happens to be a Witcher (someone who slays monsters for money) he is entrusted a young girl from the royal family because he was very close to the father/king. It turns out that this young girl named Ciri has special abilities and it is her and Geralts job to try and prevent war between the diffrent factions that exist in the land. Ciri is also hunted for her unique powers so it is also Geralts job to protect her.

I would recomend the book to people who enjoy fantasy settings or people who like books that arent to realistic.

I would rate the book 4/5 because of the intruiging story and setting but I beleive the beggining is a bit slow. (Aron. Grade 8)

The Witches by Roald Dahl is a great action-like book about a young boy who lives with his grandmother in a world full of witches who spy around neighbourhoods looking for children to torture. I liked this book because it takes something we already know -witches- and changes their characteristics which makes them more terrifying and completely different. I also like how Roald Dahl describes the atmosphere of scenes in book, it gives me clear pictures in my mind of what is happening. I would recommend this book for 4th and 5th graders because it does not have hard vocabulary, it is not really that long, and because it is an enjoying read. (James. Grade 7)
