My favorite book this year so far is The Wild Things

Everyone should read this book because, The book tells how the characters are portrayed and conveys their emotions through detail. The content and themes inside are very refreshing, it is a fantasy book. The protagonist's character is very naughty, but the author gave him a very considerate heart. The monsters in the story also have different personalities and hobbies, and the author's descriptions are lifelike. In the story max feel misunderstood at home and at school, mischievous Max escapes to the land of the Wild Things, so he become the king of the wild things. (Esther, Grade 7)

This book is about Max, he likes to make noises, get dirty and likes to howl like a wolf. After a row wit his mother, Max runs away. He sails across the ocean and finds an island where giant beasts live and they are called The Wild Things. Max then becomes king where strange events take place. I personally like this book because it is very adventurous and fantastical. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure themed books. (Rachel, Grade 8)

This book is about a boy who argues with his mom and sister one day. He gets so mad he leaves his home and sails away. He arrives at an island and finds giant beasts. He convinces them that he is their king. The book then talks about activities he makes the beasts do, like build a giant fort. I did not love this book because it has quite random events that seem to just be thrown in, and don't make much sense. (Justine. Grade 8)
