The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a realistic fiction novel. The main character, and young girl named Mary, is sent to live with her uncle after her rich parents died. She is a very bratty and unpleasant girl. When she moves to her uncles house, she realizes there is a garden that is locked, with walls all around. She is determined to find the key, although everybody has been forbidden from going inside. Mary finds the garden, and starts cleaning it up in secret with a friend she meets. Mary starts getting healthier and less arrogant. One night, she hears some strange sounds that sound like crying... The servants claim it is just the wind, but something seems fishy to Mary. What, or who is that sound coming from? I liked this book, and I think it is a fun and easy-to-read book. I would recommend it to someone who wants to read a fun story and feel like they are sitting in a garden. (Justine. Grade 8)

Wicked History by Vlad the Impaler was written by Enid A. Goldberg which was the book I read. In this book it really caught my attention as I got to find out so many interesting facts and detailed history about Vlad the Impaler. The parts that I felt that were interesting to read were the parts when Vlad went to war against many countries. In my opinion this book genre is Non Fiction as it gives information about Vlad's entire life. This book isn't very challenging to read and I think many people in our class can read it. I would recommend this book to people who like reading or learning about people back in history. This book gave me good information and pictures about Vlad which I never knew about. Overall this book is very interesting about Vlad the Impaler's life and what he has done. (Jackson. Grade 7)
