The Forgetting Time, by Sharon Guskin, is a book about a 4-year-old kid named Noah who struggles with keeping clean but strangely remembers being a 9-year-old named Tommy and having all the memories of Tommy. This book is a great adventure book as it explores the themes of grieving, discovery and self-identity. It also shows how far a mother will go to protect their child. Sharon Guskin includes vocabulary that fits the book’s overall theme and target audience as well as great and detailed story-telling which are great reasons to read the book. Unfortunately, the story starts to get a bit complicated towards the middle which may make it unengaging to some viewers, as well as uses foul language, which may be reasons to avoid the book. Overall, the book has a few storytelling and vocabulary issues but still has a great plot and characters to attract audiences to read it. (Ayden. Grade 8)
