This is the first book of the series “The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod” by Heather Brewer. In this story, Vladimir, a half vampire half human teen meets his substitute teacher for the first time. At first Vlad finds nothing wrong with him but he soon learns the shocking secret his teacher is keeping. Is he actually the only vampire left? What happened to his parents? Is his teacher telling the truth when he says they are related? Vladimir struggles to get answers to all these questions while managing middle school. This was a really great book that was exciting and fast to read. I would mostly recommend it for ages above ten that can start to read chapter books. (Nina. Grade 7)

The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod by Heather Brewer is a non-fiction-mystery novel that revolves around vampires. I feel like the book didn't capture my interest in the beginning but as the story progresses, it gets more engaging as the protagonists tries to uncover who was responsible for his parent's and teacher's death. I'd recommend this book to those who is interested in reading a mystery-non-fiction book that focuses on vampires/mythical creatures. (Stella. Grade 7)
