I read the The Blind Side. It is a biography of NFL player Michael Oher. It explains his rise out of poverty, homelessness, and neglect to becoming one of best athletes in the NFL. I really enjoyed reading this book as it was very detailed and it made me understand some of the struggles of being homeless and living in poverty is. When I started reading the book I did not know anything about football so when reading the beginning of the book I did not really understand much as it mainly talked about football. But, after reading, I knew a lot more about football. The vocabulary of the book was slightly challenging as there were some words I did not know. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this book to anyone even if they do not know much about football or know a lot, and someone who likes realistic fiction genre books with not very challenging vocabulary. Although, since the book is quite long, I recommend this book to more advanced readers. (Seoyeon, Grade 7)
