Scarlet & Ivy, The Lights Under The Lakes by Sophie Cleverly is a book full of mystery, adventure and non-fiction. Scarlet and Ivy return to school, finding that they're going to go on a school field trip to stay in a hotel. There were many mysteries when they stayed over at the hotel and found out that Rose's necklace is suddenly important. I enjoyed reading this book, as I did with the other books. The story had a lot of plots and conflicts in it and I would recommend this book towards ages 9-11, as it was not a challenging book for me. (Ellery. Grade 7)

Scarlet and Ivy 4 - The Lights Under The Lake was a mystery book that I quite enjoyed. It's the 4th book to the Scarlet & Ivy series and continues the story where book 3 left off. Mrs. Knight is the new headmistress with the intention to recover Rookwood's reputation. And what better way is there than to get your school in the local newspaper? And so, the school will be going for a 1 week vacation with outdoor activities to show people what Rookwood learning is about. As the girls arrive at the Lakeside hotel, they immediately notice something is off... As the days continue, sinister events lead the girls to a new mystery... I liked this book because the vocabulary was not very hard. (Malena. Grade 8)

The Lights under the Lake by Sophie Cleverly is the 4th book of the realistic fiction series, Scarlet and Ivy. Mrs. Knight has taken over being headmistress. She is determined to try and save and rebuild what is left of Rookwood's reputation. So the girls will be leaving Rookwood for a week, and staying at a lakeside hotel. Something seems off about the Rogers, who run the hotel, and mysterious things start appearing. They start hearing about the tales of the village under the lake, and Rose's pendant seems to become more important suddenly... I enjoyed this book because like all the other books from this series, the plot is very interesting, and a turn of events is always included. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction mysteries. (Justine. Grade 8)
