"Scarlet and Ivy, the Dance in the Dark by" Sophie Cleverly is the third book of this collection. It writes about the adventures Scarlet and Ivy have when catastrophes start to happen at "Rookwood". But the one that shocks them the most is the disappearance of their ballet teacher Miss Finch. Yet again, the twins and their best friend Ariadne start looking around for clues until they find the truth. In this story, they also find a lost relative that can tell them more about their mother. This was a wonderful book that is easy to read and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this to anyone. The story fits in the genres realistic fiction, mystery and adventure. There is no specific age group for this novel but I would recommend it for nine year olds who can start to read thicker books. (Nina. Grade 7)

Scarlet and Ivy - the dance in the dark by Sophie Cleverly was a pretty good book that I definitely enjoyed. I liked the plot twists and the many mysteries. I also liked it because the vocabulary is fairly simple making it easy to read. It picks off where the last book (Scarlet & Ivy - The Whispers in the Walls) left off. Mr. Bartholomew's secrets revealed... Scarlet & Ivy's mother a mystery... Sounds at night... Thefts... Accusations... More unfortunate events... Who is behind these evil acts?? Follow the story as Scarlet & Ivy uncover truths, solve mysteries, and plunge themselves into another adventure filled with danger... (Malena. Grade 8)

The Dance in the Dark by Sophie Cleverly is the 3rd book in the realistic fiction series Scarlet & Ivy. The twins have just uncovered a new piece of information that has changed a lot of what they knew. When they had gone to investigate the headmaster Mr.Barthemlow, they discovered a girl had drowned at his hands. They decided to go see the memorial plaque, but the name they find is unexpected... It is the name of their mother... But more strange things start happening around the school, and the twins refuse to think that the one person they fear might be back... I like this book since like the last ones, the plot was very interesting and kept me engaged throughout the story. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction with a dash of mystery. (Justine. Grade 8)
