The Red Scarf girl is heart-wrenching memoir about Chinas Cultural Revolution. Its told from Ji-Li's perspective and the story will hold a grip on you until the very end. I personally enjoyed this book but rated it 3 stars and recommend anyone who is into history to check it out. On the other hand, this book would be extremely difficult to read if you get bored easily and not all that interested in historical non-fiction. (Lola. Grade 8)

I would recommend this book because it's a storyline about Ji-Li Jiang (the main character) life. Its genre fits most with Historical fiction because It tells about China being revolutionised into something new because the citizens want it to be a new city. What I liked about this book was that they told stories about what it was like before technology started. It was interesting. (Ellery. Grade 7)
