One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus, is a great mystery book set in a high school of the modern age. I personally think this book had some great story progression and character development, while also keeping the main plot of the story intact. The book begins with the 5 main characters being sent to detention after being allegedly setup. Later on in the detention they are distracted by a car crash outside as Simon, a notorious gossiper in the school, drinks from a cup of water. He then falls to the ground in a seizure and the other 4 struggle to find his Epipen. He is then later reported dead from nut poisoning, leaving the other 4 main characters framed and as major suspects of his murder. Overall, this is an absolutely fantastic murder mystery book that lets readers relate and feel for the characters in it. (Ayden. Grade 8)

One of Us is Lying is a book about five students who got in detention but only four them got out alive. A boy called Simon Kheller had an allergic reaction after drinking water that had peanut oil inside. When one of them got to the nurse to find the EpiPen, they were all gone. They were gone on that same day. The police gatheres all four of them, questioning what happened that afternoon. In the story, they also talk about their high-school lives like relationships, family and their past years. Who was the person who killed Simon? I recommend this book to people who are insterested in muder mysteries. (Ahyun. Grade 7)

One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus is a murder mystery. I personally think it was a really good book with some plot twists that make the story more interesting. When Simon -- owner and creator of a gossip app -- dies in detention because of peanut allergy, the obvious suspects are the 4 students that were in the classroom with him... Clues are uncovered, theories created, and new friendships are formed while others break. Follow the story and try to find out who is responsible for the death of Simon... I recommend this book for people who like mystery and suspenseful plot twists. (Malena. Grade 8)

I kind of would recommend this book because I didn't really enjoy the story. The story started with 5 people who were in detention because of the phones that were found in each and every backpack. Simon was the victim, he died after drinking a glass of water with peanut oil in, no one could find the EpiPen, especially in the nurse's office, all of them suddenly disappeared on that exact day. There were 4 other people in the room, they were all suspects of the murder that happened in the room. The story was told from the 4 suspect's point of view, each told the situation they were each in. There was one suspect who was suspected but he wasn't the one. Who was it? (Ellery. Grade 7)
