The book "New kids in town" by Janet Bode was an interesting book that helped me learn about the life of immigrants. The book is based on first hand interviews that the author conducted with different immigrants who had all escaped their countries because of war and other extreme situations. I really liked the way the book is based on real stories about real people because we get a true picture. The main point of the book is telling the story of each immigrant and the many challenges they faced in their life. This was short and easy book to read. I found it enjoyable and informative. I would mostly recommend this book to people who enjoy non fictional stories that provide lots of first hand information. This would be suitable for ages 9 and up because it might not be easy to understand or a bit boring for younger ages. (Nina. Grade 7)
