Minecraft: the island by Max Brooks is about a guy that ends up in a world where everything is blocky including wildlife, the landscape and even clouds; the main character has to figure out the rules of the new world he ended up in because it is very different to the real world where he originally lived in. He has to explore the island he lives on and goes through multiple adventures just so he can get the necessary resources to be able to live. I think the genre of this book is Adventure and fantasy, because he goes to many places like caves, mountains, etc, and he is in a world where things are not even close to being similar to the real world where he originated in. I recommend this to everyone, but especially people who like adventure and fantasy at the same time, because the book was very interesting and kept me hooked until the book was finished and there were no more pages to read. The book that I read was called Minecraft The Island, by Max Brooks. This book was very interesting as it told the characters story in the Minecraft world and how he got there. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to people who like playing Minecraft or know about it. The vocabulary isn't very hard, but some words were. This book was well written and I couldn't stop reading it. But overall I think that this book was great because it tells us the character story in the Minecraft world. (Jackson. Grade 7)

Minecraft the island is a great book, it's about a person who suddenly *snaps* into existence in a blocky world. He (or she, lets name them Player A) makes discoveries, teaches themself the way of the cube, which is a method that Player A developed to survive and makes their way through this blocky world to find out who they really are back on earth. This book is a great example of Robinson Crusoe, but in a totally new, and unforgiving environment which is the world of Minecraft. This book is great for experienced readers because it has tough vocabulary and perfectly portrays the excitedness when you discover something. But I read this book before in 3rd or 4th grade, so there could be harder books out there too read, but all in all, this is a great book. (James. Grade 7)

Minecraft: The Island was really good in my opinion, and I think if you like Minecraft you probably would like this book too. It's about someone from the real world that somehow got into a Minecraft world. The genre of the book seems to be adventure. Throughout the book there are references to some Minecraft achievements and the book is just about how this person survives in the world and learns how it works. (Ashton. Grade 7)
