I read the book IT by Stephen King, the book takes place in the fictional town of Derry. It follows a group of friends that are, according to other people, “losers”. It starts with one of the losers whose name is Bill, he has just made a paper boat for his younger brother who takes it and goes to play with it outside in the rain. Eventually the paper boat goes down a drain and the younger brother whose name is Georgie is devastated. All of a sudden a clown appears in the drain and they start to have a conversation.

The book switches between the losers from the past and in the present, as in when they first meet the clown as kids and when it returns in the future.

The book has an intermediate vocabulary drawing inspiration from the well known horror author H.P. Lovecraft whose words are extremely difficult to understand.

I would give the book a 4 out of 5 because it is very detailed and makes you excited for what is going to happen next, and fulfills its purpose of being a scary novel. (Aron. Grade 8)
