Gone by Michael Grant

Gone by Michael Grant is a book that focuses on a 14 year old boy named Sam. One day while Sam is in class, his teacher disappears. Just vanishes. They realize that this has happened to every person who is aged 15 or above. All the adults and older teenagers are gone. Only the kids are left. Sam goes in to a house on fire and attempts to save a little girl. People want him to take control, but other bullies are taking charge. Then the mysterious students from an academy nearby come to their town and have now taken over. Sam discovers that he, and other kids around him, have started getting powers. With his friends, they try to find out what, or who caused all this to happen. They also realize some people are not as good as they seem, they are much worse... I recommend this book, because I think that it was a very interesting concept and idea, and the plot kept me engaged the whole time. (Justine. Grade 8)
