Girl Gone Viral by Arvin Ahmadi is a science fiction book about a seventeen-year-old girl named Opal Hopper. When her dad disappears after her tenth birthday, she tries desperately to find him. Years later, WAVE, the biggest virtual reality platform, announces a contest in which the winner gets to meet the founder. This interests Opal as she thinks that there is a connection between her father's disappearance and the founder of WAVE and that’s the basis of the plot. I enjoyed reading this book because it was very suspenseful from beginning to end. Although, I think this book would be more suitable for mature readers as there is a little bit of mature content. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to more advanced readers because the vocabulary was quite challenging for me and for people who enjoy reading quite fast-paced science fiction stories. (Seoyeon, Grade 7)

Opal Hopper, a teenage girl who lives in a world of technology called WAVEverse, a universe that is set in virtual reality (VR) where everyone could do activities based on real life. Howie Mendelsohn creator of the virtual reality world and also the partner in business with Opal's dad. One night Opal's dad disappeared when he went out with Howie. Opal tries to find out the truth about how her dad died by having the most views (50 million views) in WAVEverse to meet Howie Mendelsohn. I would really recommend Girl Gone Viral by Arvin Ahmadi for anyone who likes Sci-fi but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like thick books (402 pages) but overall I really enjoyed reading about the WAVEverse (the VR world) and about her school.
