Getting Away With Murder is a non-fiction book written by Chris Crowe. This book talks about the true story of the Emmett Till case. Emmett Till, is a fourteen year old black teenager originally from Chicago. Emmett was visiting his family in a small town in Mississippi during the summer. Emmett was peer pressured to whistle at a young white woman. Three days later his bruised and hurt body was found floating in the Tallahatchie River. In this book you will discover the extreme and shocking violence of this crime, and one of the first cases that started racism and equality. In my opnion, I thought that at first this book was very interesting and crazy how this case was but towards the end I started finding it a bit boring. In the end I thought this book wasn't bad, if you are interesting in books that are non-fiction and talk about crime cases that build up to racism, this could be a good book for you. (Lucie.
