Boy by Roald Dahl is a book about Roald Dahl's childhood and early adulthood, therefore this book is non-fiction. I liked this book because it is so interesting to see how the world has evolved and changed from a 1st person's perspective. For example, the cane, the way of life, and the transportation (they talked about the invention of motorboats) that was fascinating. I liked hearing about his childhood and kind of compared them to modern-day childhoods. I like this author because of his writing style and stories so it was very interesting learning about his childhood. The vocabulary was harder than most as it used lots of older English words in letters in the book but I could figure out what the words meant so it wasn't an issue. I recommend this book to anyone who likes non-fiction, is interested in the older days, and anyone that likes history in general. (Monty, Grade 7)

The book I was reading was called "Boy Tales of Childhood". In this book it was interesting about his life growing up and what he has done over the years till he leaves school. The best part was when they were kids at school and there journey doing naughty stuff and more in my opinion. The book slowly got boring after a while as it felt like I wasn't really paying attention and just reading it. I would recommend this book to people who like listening about peoples past and what they did. The vocabulary of this book isnt actually really hard and I think most people in the class will be able to read it. Overall this book was fun and exiting to read when Roald Dahl was a kid but after it got a bit boring and not very exiting any more, but still a nice book to read. (Jackson. Grade 7)

Boy is a pretty good book, it's like a biography for Roald Dahl. The book just talks about how his life was in the 1900s and lots of events in his life. Because it’s just about his life and all of it could've actually happened, I thought this was non fiction. The book was interesting and I wanted to continue reading to see what would happen when he was in some problems and how things worked at that time. I would recommend this book for people who want to know what it was like back in that time or if you want to know how Roald Dahl's life was. (Ashton. Grade 7)

This book is a story about a boy growing up through the 1920's-1930's. It takes us through his journey with the public school system and just growing up in that era as well. I recommend this book for a nice and quick short read that wont keep you bored. I rated it 2 starts because it just wasn't my type of book but if the right person reads this it could end up as a 5 stars for them. The writing was great, easy to understand and had such a nice flow that it was hard to put down, even if I didn't really enjoy the story. (Lola. Grade 8)

I wouldn’t really recommend this book because in my opinion it was boring.

Boy, mainly talked about the adventures Roald Dahl did, he had many accidents, he had lost family members too. I would say from all the adventures he had, the most interesting was when he was at school because it was different than it is now. (Ellery. Grade 7)

This book is about Roald Dahl's childhood life. It describes how children were treated in school at that time (1920s) and how hard life was, for example explaining how people would die easily since there were no medicines or they were too expensive. Roald Dahl's life as a child was a hard, sad and painful one because he was always losing family members due to diseases. He was also often getting hit in school by the teachers and had to get several operations due to accidents. If you don't like this type of genre then this book might not be for you. I enjoyed it because it taught me how life was back then and made me think of how different it is now. (Nina. Grade 7)
