The realistic fiction book Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo, set in Florida, is about a ten-year-old girl named Opal who unexpectedly adopts a dog. She names the dog after the supermarket where she found him - Winn-Dixie. This story is about how Opal overcomes different challenges in her life after meeting Winn-Dixie. I enjoyed this novel because it was quite calming as there weren’t any serious conflicts. I liked reading about the strong bond of friendship between Opal and Winn-Dixie. However, if you like books that are very suspenseful, I do not recommend this as throughout the entire book, there is not really a climax or a major problem. The vocabulary in the book was not challenging at all. Therefore, I would recommend this to people who enjoy reading short, simple books with a peaceful storyline. (Seoyeon, Grade 7)

One day he went to the grocery shop and he saw a dog running around the shop and messing it up. He really liked that dog so he just took the dog to his house and named him Winn-Dixie. It shows the life of him and the dog. This book is very short and it is very simple to read. However, I don't find the climax of this book it is mostly peaceful the whole time. I would like to recommend this book to readers who are interested in reading a book that has a happy ending with a peaceful storyline. This book had a very interesting and funny text. The book I was reading is called "The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee" by Tom Angleberger. In this book, I was very interested in the part where the kids had no origami to help them when they needed it the most, so they instead made the "Fortune Wookiee" and how they used it to go through middle school. The genre of the book is comedy in my opinion as throughout the book there are very funny parts that may make some people laugh as it did with me. I would rate this book higher than the "Darth Paper Strikes Back!" book from the same series, as this one just caught more of my attention. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading comedy books, seeing or learn the life of kids in middle school or even people who like Star Wars. Overall this book was very amusing and fun to read. (Jackson. Grade 7)
