Divergent, by Veronica Roth, is a dystopian science fiction book set in the future version of Chicago. The main character, Beatrice, is a young woman who lives in a society that divides the citizens into 5 groups. When you are 16 years old, you must choose one of the groups to become a member of. Conflict occurs in the book when someone doesn’t fit into one of those 5 groups. I highly recommend this book to everyone even if you don’t like science fiction. It was an awesome story that kept my interest from the beginning until the end. It is suspenseful and emotional but also has some romance. This was the most enjoyable book out of all of the books that I have read so far. (Sebin. Grade 8)

Divergent by Veronica Roth is a dystopian novel with a mix of romance, science fiction, and suspense woven into the story. It is about a girl named Beatrice “Tris” Prior who lives in a society that is strictly divided into five factions. Every year, all sixteen-year-olds must choose a permanent faction to live in for the rest of their lives. This type of dystopian future seems unimaginable yet fascinating. I really enjoyed reading this novel and would consider it one of the best books I have ever read. The story was unique and I liked how there were many unexpected twists in the book which made it exciting. I’d strongly recommend this for more advanced readers as the vocabulary is quite challenging and the book is rather long. Overall, this book is for people who are looking for a challenging read that is extremely exciting and suspenseful. It's a real page turner! (Seoyeon. Grade 7)
