⭐️Today we will begin a new unit on figurative language. We will start with similes. Similes are when you compare two things using like or as. We will continue to practice multiplication and we will learn about Native Americans cultures of the Southwest.


⭐️No morning meeting or small groups tomorrow. I will be at meetings in the morning. But I will be in the zoom room from 1-2 if you need help.

Task 1: Video

We will learn about similes by watching this video. A simile compares two items using like or as.

Examples of similes:

  1. During the house fire, my dad was as brave as a lion.

  2. My best friend sings like an angel.

  3. My brother was as sick as a dog.

  4. The breeze was gentle like a butterfly.

  5. Her mind is like an encyclopedia.

Task 2:

1. Add these notes in your notebook.

2. Then watch the video again and find an example of a simile to write in your notes.

3. Upload notes.
