The Mouse + The Motorcycle

To wrap-up our novel study on the The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary, we watched the movie from 1986. The kids got a kick out of a movie from the "old days". We then dissected owl pellets. In the book, one of Ralph's uncle was unfortunately eaten by an owl, only to be found later in a pellet. We talked about how owls form pellets and then each table dissected a pellet - searching for bones of either rats or voles. Some kids loved it, some were very hesitant!
