Students participating in service trips this summer will walk through Hamilton on April 28 to raise money for the Summer in Solidarity program as well as Badin’s service program.
The Strides for Solidarity walk will begin in Marcum Park in downtown Hamilton and stop by about fifteen local nonprofits.
“The idea for the service trips is to be in solidarity with the people we serve, and this walk is a reminder to also be in solidarity with those in need in our own community,” Mrs. Halverson said.
There are three different trips this summer: the Guatemala trip, Nazareth Farm in West Virginia, and Solsberry Hill in Indiana.
“I am going on the Solsberry Hill trip and I’m excited to go to different nonprofits and get closer to my peers,” sophomore Jessica Rostuetcher said.
The Strides for Solidarity Walk will help prepare students for their trips this summer.
“I am looking forward to exploring nonprofits close to my home,” Rostuetcher said.
