As more and more COVID-19 vaccines continue to roll out across the state and country, access to vaccinations has been given to anyone 18 years of age or older. Some Badin students have taken advantage of this opportunity.
Senior Cody Loewenstine received the Moderna vaccine recently.
He said, “I was eager to receive the vaccine and even encouraged by family to get it.”
Another senior who received the Moderna vaccine was Caroline Hughes, shared similar excitement about receiving the shot.
Hughes said, “I wanted to get (the vaccine) as soon as I could.”
Both students had fairly good experiences with receiving the vaccine.
Loewenstine said, “The line was about an hour and a half long but the actual vaccination was less than 5 minutes and was done in my car. The only symptoms I had was tiredness and soreness in my vaccinated arm which happened later that night and lasted until the next night.”
Hughes said, “It was good! My arm was just sore afterwards.”
Some have had hesitations about receiving one of the COVID-19 vaccines, but that wasn’t the case with either Badin senior.
Loewenstine said, “I’m ready to return to normal”.
The most exciting thing for the two seniors after receiving the vaccine is the prospects of normalcy.
Loewenstine said, “This is a huge step towards returning to a Covid-free lifestyle.”
Hughes concluded, “I’m most excited to get back to normal and not have to worry about COVID-19 when hanging out with others!”
