This session aims to equip teachers with strategies to protect their voices, while meeting the demands of their profession. Key topics include vocal anatomy, resonance, breath support and management, volume production, and physical health.
Dane Alexander Carten (he/him) is a musician, performer, and composer with a diverse background in Metal and Classical music. He has served as a vocal coach, co-owned the High-Octane Concert Lounge in Romeo, MI, and promoted local bands throughout Metro Detroit. Dane also led music theatre productions and children’s choirs in Michigan. He holds degrees in Music Theory and Composition (Oakland Community College), Music Education (Wayne State University), and a Master’s in Choral Conducting (University of Arizona). Pursuing a Doctorate in Choral Conducting at the UofA, Dane directs multiple choirs in Tucson, including the University of Arizona’s Faculty/Staff Choir and the Neoteric Chamber Choir.
