Dr. Syed Zulfiqar Assistant Professor of Physics Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan
Dr. Syed Zulfiqar is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Physics, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM). He was born in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and has established a remarkable academic journey, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Peshawar, followed by a Master of Science and M.Phil. from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. His research has taken him to Zhejiang University in China, where he completed his PhD, focusing on the structural, optical, dielectric, and magnetic properties of metal-based nanoparticles. Dr. Syed Zulfiqar further honed his expertise with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the field of hybrid heterojunctions based photocatalytic H2 production at Jiangsu University, China.
With extensive experience in teaching and research, Dr. Syed Zulfiqar has contributed significantly to the fields of nanotechnology and material science, particularly in the synthesis and characterization of nanostructures. His work spans various materials, including SnO2, CuO, MnO2, TiO2, Cu2O, Co2O3, NiO, g-C3N4 and magnetic nanoparticles, and their applications in photocatalysis, gas sensing, and electrochemistry. He has published over 100 research papers in high-impact international journals, showcasing his dedication to advancing knowledge in his field. As an educator, Dr. Syed Zulfiqar is committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists, having supervised multiple M.Phil. and PhD students in their research endeavors.
