Hello Everyone!

I am Mrs. Megan LaFountain, and I am originally from Naperville, IL, but I came up to Wisconsin for college. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from St. Norbert College in 2018. I am also a fifth-generation teacher, and I'm currently on the path for all subject certification for grades K-9 which I am scheduled to receive this year! Learning never ends!

I started my teaching career right after graduating, where I taught for four years in the Merrill Area Public Schools. I taught 5th grade general music and 5th-8th grade choir. More recently, I taught 5th grade ELA and Social Studies three years ago here at AV-W, and I am very excited to be starting my third year in the 8th-grade crew this year as an 8th-year teacher!

I will be out on maternity leave until mid October as my husband, Marcel, and I welcomed our first child, Maeve, to the world!!! We enjoy getting outside, cooking, baking, singing, and being creative! We are very excited to see what the future holds for us here! Some of my other passions include making art, Irish dancing, traveling, and video games.

I am super excited for this upcoming year, and I am honored to be your teacher for 8th grade!
