Hello Everyone!

I am Mrs. Megan LaFountain, and I am originally from Naperville, IL, but I came up to Wisconsin for college. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from St. Norbert College in 2018. I am also a fifth-generation teacher, and I successfully completed my Kindergarten through 9th Grade Elementary Education Certification in the Spring of 2026!  Learning never ends!

I started my teaching career right after graduating, where I taught for four years in the Merrill Area Public Schools. I taught 5th grade general music and 5th-8th grade choir. More recently, I taught 5th grade ELA and Social Studies five years ago here at AV-W, and I am very excited to be starting my fourth year in the 8th-grade crew this year as a 9th-year teacher!

My husband, Marcel, and I love chasing our 1 year old, Maeve around the house!  We enjoy getting outside, cooking, baking, singing, and being creative! We are very excited to see what the future holds for us here! Some of my other passions include making art, Irish dancing, traveling, and video games.

I am super excited for this upcoming year, and I am honored to be your teacher for 8th grade!
