Happy August and Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We are excited to be a part of your return after all of the uncertainty we faced last year. We have high expectations for your children and will be getting them ready for high school next year. Because of this, we will be putting in place a new program at AVMS that will help all of our students be accountable, responsible students to ensure success. The program is called, “The Academic Accountability Plan”. Be on the lookout for more information and contracts to be signed by students and guardians.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to any of us.

Pre-Algebra

Pre-Algebra has started and we are picking up where students left off last year in math! We have a long road ahead of us, but we will get there and make sure we are ready for high school next year! Keep students practicing integers and how to solve simple equations.

Social Studies

In Social Studies we are currently reviewing ‘What Government is’ and specifically reviewing the Declaration of Independence and The US Constitution. We will be analyzing the ideas and principles contained in the founding documents of the United States, and how they influence society and political systems.

ELA

Our lessons are centered on having students think critically and make connections from the text to themselves and the world around them. Each week students will have the opportunity to explore a new reading selection. There will be assignments tied to those selections. You will be able to see the assignments and their due dates in your Class Dojo accounts. I look forward to an amazing year of success!
