Nick Daniels is currently on his 14th year of teaching Woodworking, Carpentry and Intro to Trad and Industry here at Avery County High School where he is known most of the time as Mr. D.
Nick was born in Los Angeles, California but has spent the majority of his life right here in Avery County. Nick still lives on the family farm where he was raised, along with his wife Regina who is the secretary of Crossnore Elementary School.
Nick has had many and varied careers in his life with the most prevalent being in the residential construction field. Nick was a self-employed building contractor for about 25 years prior to coming to teach at Avery County High School through the lateral entry program, where work experience is counted towards and in lieu of an educational background with regards to obtaining a teaching license.
Nick is a hobby farmer of vegetables, goats and chickens. He spends the majority of his free time playing with his three grandchildren who are the joys of his life. Finally, and most importantly of all, Nick believes that his only purpose for existence is to know Christ and to make him known.
