Ancient Egypt Capstone Project

Welcome to our Ancient Egypt Capstone Project website! This annual project for 6th graders at Austin Prep is interdisciplinary and entails students learning about Ancient Egypt through different mediums in their history, English and religion classes. Given the circumstances of our 2020-2021 school year, we felt a website showcasing student's work was the best way to safely share all the incredible projects that they have been working on! Simple click on teacher's name in the tabs above to see the student's projects in their classes.

What is a Capstone Project?

In Ancient Egypt, the capstone was literally the pointed stone put on top of a pyramid or obelisk! Today, a capstone may involve a final research paper or project that demonstrates knowledge by uniquely exploring a topic of interest. Our 6th grade capstone is a way for students to present what they learned on particular topics such as pharaohs, sacred sites and artifacts as well as their creative writing on ancient Egypt.

The capstone project helps students learning the necessary skills needed to conduct academic research, give engaging presentations and write effectively and creatively. The students put great effort into their work so we hope you enjoy it!

Connor Lynch - Your Egyptian Travel Brochure

Here is a great example of a travel brochure on The Valley of the Kings by Connor Lynch.

Part of the fun of creating a travel brochure is writing persuasively to convince the other students to visit your site!

It is no surprise that Valley of the Kings will definitely be on our travel list for next year!

Thanks for visting our museum!
