endorsements

Students will be enrolled under the Distinguished Level of Achievement (26 credits) and must declare a high school endorsement. Endorsements consist of a related series of courses that are grouped together byinterest or skill set. They provide students with in-depth knowledge of a subject area. Students canchoose from five endorsement areas:
• Science, Technology, Engineering and Math(STEM)• Business and Industry• Public Service• Arts and Humanities• Multidisciplinary Studies (under the 4 by 4 plan, every student will graduate with this endorsement)
All five endorsements may or may not be offered at every high school campus. Endorsements may be changed but different schools allow these changes at different times.

GPA & Class Rank

The Cumulative GPA is an average based on ALL classes

Class Rank is calculated from the cumulative weighted GPA

Weighted GPA is based on higher level courses that are on Tier I of the grading scale.

High school level courses completed at the middle school level shall be posted to the high school academic record. The final grade is included in calculating high school (GPA) and will appear on the high school transcript.

Below you will find the Integrated Grading Scale

TIER I “WEIGHTED LEVEL COURSES include Advanced, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, dual credit, ACC Tech credit, magnet, and other TEA-approved and district-identified weighted courses.

TIER II “GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES” include grade-level-TEKS courses. TIER II also includes courses completed with limited modifications.
