I like these articles:
How to Find Internship Opportunities as a College Student (yes, the article is from Canada, but the same info applies)
Hot Internship Summer (no, it's not just about summer)
Notes:
many summer internships have applications as early the end of January!!! Start your search early...like in the previous fall!!!
you don't have to stay local! Many of these opportunities help with temporary moving/living expenses.

Did you know that ACC's first incubator was the Bioscience Incubator? This facility is at the HLC campus where they provide fully-equipped lab space for science start-up companies to do their work. The facility is impressive!
The Austin Community College Bioscience Incubator (ABI) relies on student interns to run the facility, and some of the partnering start-up companies hire interns as well (from science, visual arts, marketing, and more)!
The ABI has created a Google group where they will post information about job opportunities and events. To join the online group, please fill out the form here: ABI Interest Group. They also have a newsletter, and you can sign up here: ABI newsletter.
ACC Career Services is here to help! A specialist can review and provide feedback on your resume and other materials.
Descriptions of an academic resume can be found by going to the Transfer section of my webpage. Scroll down to the "Transfer Application" section and click on "What is an academic resume?"
Most internships require letters of recommendation. Go to the Transfer section of my webpage, scroll down to the "Transfer Application" section and click on "Who should I ask for recommendation letter(s) and how?" to learn more about recommendation letters.
Of course, don't hesitate to reach out to me! I'm happy to strategize with you and review your materials, too! (samantha.soebbing@austincc.edu)
Students are frequent targets of employment scams. Fraudulent employers are targeting student email accounts...and even posing as legitimate ACC departments or faculty/staff.
Fake jobs can be attempts to steal personal information, money, or bank account information from you. Be cautious, review job posts carefully, and watch out for scammers.
For more information, please see this site from ACC Career Services here.
Remember — if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
