Below are the badges I have created in the learning management system, Blackboard. I use the badges to encourage more observations and identifications in iNaturalist. I used coin images because I thought there were some great coins out there that would be perfect for achievement badges in iNaturalist.
You have made your first observation in iNaturalist and you are now on your way to becoming an iNaturalist master.
You have made 50 or more observations in iNaturalist!
You have made 100 or more observations in iNaturalist!
You have made 200 or more observations in iNaturalist!
You have made 300 or more observations in iNaturalist!
You have made 400 or more observations in iNaturalist!
You have helped identify at least one organism on iNaturalist. You are on your way to becoming a master identifier and a contributor to the community.
You have made 20 or more identifications for others in iNaturalist! Way to support the iNat community!
You have made 50 or more identifications for others in iNaturalist! Way to support the iNat community!
You have made 100 or more identifications for others in iNaturalist! Way to support the iNat community! You are getting good at this.
You have made 200 or more identifications for others in iNaturalist! Way to support the iNat community! You have become a force for identification and are starting to be able to identify things without using a field guide.
You have made 300 or more identifications for others in iNaturalist! Way to support the iNat community! You are now able to pick out the differences between characteristics in closely related species without referring to a book.
You participated in the Texas Pollinator BioBlitz.
You participated in the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge.
You are now a citizen scientist! You have received 100% on your first iNaturalist project. It is a sign that have mastered the basics of iNaturalist navigation and adding observations to the website.
You are now a protist hunter! You have received 100% on your module 2 iNaturalist project. It is a sign that have mastered the basics of preparing wet mounts and photographing microscopic organisms for the purposes of uploading to iNaturalist. It also marks your ability to find and identify local protists.
You are a plant and fungi forager! You have received 100% on your module 3 project. It marks your ability to find and properly photograph the required plant and fungal specimens for this project. It also reflects the quality of your observations.

You are a vertebrate tracker! You have received 100% on the module 5 project. It marks your ability to find and properly photograph the required vertebrate specimens for this project. It also reflects the quality of your observations.
You are now an iNaturalist master! You have mastered iNaturalist by meeting all of the requirements for observing protists, plants, fungi, invertebrates and vertebrates and have successfully integrated your observation into the larger iNaturalist community.
