Do you like science, engineering, and math? I'd love to see you in my 'Intro to Engineering' class at ACC, or speak with you in my role as a faculty advisor.

Need help with your current physics or engineering courses? Come see me or my fellow tutors at the Learning Lab at the Highland Campus (in the giant 'ACCelerator' room), or visit the Learning Lab at an ACC campus that's convenient to you.

In my Introduction to Engineering course, we combine reading, lecture slides, and hands-on use of engineering tools such as CAD software. Throughout, I interject experiences from my 30 years in the high-tech microelectronics field. We end the semester with a group project to engineer a small, self-driving car. In doing so, we practice engineering concepts while gaining exposure to motors, electronics, software, and 3D-printing.

Engineering requires technical know-how, creativity, and teamwork. And it can be a lot of fun! These are examples of robot-cars designed and made by ACC students in an Introduction to Engineering class (ENGR-1201).

Whether I'm in a classroom or just chatting one-on-one with a student, I'm happy to share experiences from my 30 years of engineering work in the high-tech microelectronics field. And if you're interested in working in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry, connect me with on LinkedIn and let's talk about how to get your foot in the door through networking or a paid internship.

Physics and engineering courses can be tough. If something isn't making sense to you, there's free walk-in help available. Many of ACC's campuses have physics and engineering tutors who will help you conquer even the most difficult concepts and problems.

I tutor physics and engineering at the Learning Lab at the Highland Campus. Check my schedule online, as it varies from semester to semester. Just walk in the ACCelerator, turn right, and skip down to the Learning Lab. I and other tutors are waiting for you!
