Close my eyes, I look inside and move into a dream world.
All this time I leave my mind and step into a dream world. Deep inside a dream world.
Quietly as I can go, to depart here is my plan.
Ah... all it seems, step into a dream, deep inside.

Paradisum Amissam [Paradise Lost]
Quales aerii montis de vertice nubes
Cum surgunt, et jam Boreae tumida ora quierunt,
Caelum hilares abdit spissa caligine vultus,
Nimbosumque nives aut imbres cogitat aether:
Tum si jucundo tandem sol prodeat ore,
Et croceo montes et pascua lumine tingat,
Gaudent omnia, aves mulcent concentibus agros,
Balatuque ovium colles vallesque resultant.
Translation:
Like the air of a mountain from the top of a cloud
When they rise, and the swollen lips of Boreas ask,
Why does the sky hide the cheerful faces in a thick fog,
Thinking of snow and snow and rain in the ether.
And if at last the sun should come forth with joy,
And the mountains and pastures are tinged with the light of crocus,
All rejoice, the birds fill the fields with concerts,
And the hills and valleys are full of flocks of sheep!

After Eighty Years
Julia Watkins Davis, soprano
Valeria Diaz, piano
After Eighty Years
After eighty years of stress and strain all lighted by perfect days
When the road was rough or the night was long, I’ve felt the tender hand of my God lead me
down his flower-strewn ways.
We’ve walked serene through the summer’s heat, through the winter’s sleet and cold, and as each
tiring chore was done, we’ve rested safe in my Father’s fold.
When the road was rough or the night was long, I’ve felt the tender hand of my God lead me
down his flower-strewn ways.
So Father, accept our trusting lives, this faltering mead of praise, and grant when our walk on
earth is done, and the call comes from the sky, we may joyously gather around Your throne, my
flock and I, my flock and I.
When the road was rough or the night was long, I’ve felt the tender hand of my God lead me
down his flower-strewn ways.

L'oiseau
What have I done
Where have you gone
What can I do
Where can you go
This isn't what I imagined
This wasn't my intention
I gave you everything but the sky
I can't trap myself in the same cage
If this is really for you
I must let you go
If this is really for you
you can never know
It's the same constant,
experienced differently.

Azizaah Naahzaneenaah, Naahzaneenaah
Beloved, divine and dear
Nehgaarah, Mahjabeena, Mahjabeena
With countenance adorned, brow kissed by moons' grace,
Che peesh aamad ke dar chashm meh raqeebaahn
Be yekbaarreh shekastee ghalb eh maa raa
Beheld by envious gazes, what unfolded,
How effortlessly my heart was rent asunder.
Maraa dardee agar baashad toei toh
Deleh tangee agar baashad toei toh
The ache within me, if it ever exists, it is you,
If there's ever a fetter upon my heart, it is you,
Be darmaanam sabaa ayaam eh douree
Khodaavandee agar baashad toei toh
For my cure, the breeze in your absence carries your essence near,
Yet for this pain, if a deity exists, it resides solely in you.

Do re mi fa sol fa mi re do mi sol mi do
Do re mi fa sol; It's solfege class again.
Re mi fa sol la; When will it ever end?
I sit in class and sing along with sol sol te sol mi.
The minutes crawl, my eyelids fall with fa la do la fa.
These beastly exercises, they numb the artist's brain.
Those unrelenting syllables, I think I'll go insane.
My spirit years to fly away to find its rightful place.
But still I sing this beastly thing, and freedom's not the case.
I belong to the world. I can see it today.
My star will burn bright in the heavens above, you will see.
I'll wow them with talent. The critics will swoon.
Directors will chase me and offer the moon to sing the grand songs that everyone clamours to hear.
The whole world will love me. They'll call out my name.
My talent will bring me fortune and fame. I can't wait!
Do mi re fa mi sol fa la sol ti la do ti re do
Now I'm sitting here in class awaiting my debut.
I'm singing solfege syllables and giving them their due.
Do la ti sol la fa sol mi fa re mi do re ti do
I square my jaw and sing out loud and try to sing in tune
While wishing I could fly away and do it very soon.
Do fa mi re re sol fa mi sol do ti la re do ti mi re do
I belong to the world. I can see it today.
My star will burn bright in the heavens above, you will see.
I'll practice my solfege, perfect every note.
I'll be the best ever, the sight-singing GOAT.
I'll conquer the world with my sol la it dote!
Sol la ti do!
You'll marvel to see the great places I'll go!
Do re mi fa sol fa mi re do mi sol mi do

Translation:
What you do is love
I’m not here to study the form of the horses
But I pray that he may win favors for her
What you do is love
I’m here to sit with you and talk with you as well
Not known to you, what you do is love
What you do is love
All you do is love {x8}
What you do {x3}
Is love
What you do {x3}
Is love

Stay a Little While Longer
John Proft, baritone
Emily Montoya, cello
Valeria Diaz, piano
To someone who is tired and broken,
I know it’s difficult.
It feels like nothing is right
Like you don’t belong here.
Your heart aches,
it feels empty.
You are thinking
That you are going to lose this miserable war.
But for once I want you to reconsider my words.
I believe that you can get past this valley.
Do not lose this war.
You are loved.
You are strong.

The Great Silence
Alone somewhere, yet nowhere
But you and I are here
Coincidence, that you and I
Breathe the same air
Funny, the sun kisses my face down here
But, it is hell up there
An illusion that doesn’t understand itself
A sky that can’t hold herself
Yet at every moment
It’s walking it’s step fearlessly
You and I holding hands with faith
Like a baby protected
By its companion dog
Then who do I ask
The secrets of life
Do I ask the ants on the ground
The fire himself
The water on the pavement
Walking along side me
Or do I ask the wind
Why it crumbled down that family's house
Or do I ask the trickster himself
