I’ve written multiple mission statements throughout my career as a teacher. However, as we start the school year with distance learning this one quote stuck out in mind, “The distance between learner and teacher has never been closer than it is now.” This statement symbolizes the challenges we will overcome together with our renewed focus on innovation, integrity, and growth mindset we bring to the virtual classrooms this fall.

My mission remains to be focused on student curiosity and inquiry. It is important for students to make mistakes and engage in problem-solving as they build strong foundational skills and resources that will shape them to become resilient future leaders, especially in these unprecedented times.
