In this course students will focus on three major topics: Chemical Interactions, Earth History, and Populations and Ecosystems. In the FOSS Chemical Interactions Course, students explore the anchor phenomenon of interactions of matter. The driving question for the course is: How does matter interact?
In the FOSS Earth History Course, students will use the anchoring phenomenon of the Grand Canyon to study the history of Earth and introduce them to the geologic history of a place. The driving question for this course is: What do we need to know to tell the geologic story of a place?
Finally, the FOSS Populations and Ecosystems Course provides students with the first steps along the path of ecological understanding. With this understanding, students will have the skills necessary to be considerate and measured while serving the interests of all life.
