In Grade 6 Math, instructional time focuses on four Domains: (1) The Real Complex Number System: apply previous understandings of multiplication and division to decimals and fractions; later extending previous understandings of numbers to they system of rational numbers; (2) Geometry: solve real-real and mathematical problems involving areas, surface area, and volume. (3) Operations and Algebraic Thinking: apply and extend understandings of arithmetic to algebraic expressions. (4) Statistics and Probability: develop understanding of statistical variability while summarizing and describing distributions. Each domain provides students with the necessary knowledge to advance in their mathematics education.
