Pr-Academic Delegateship in Regenerative Architecture

Hosted by Sacred Groves in collaboration with EartHauz Architecture & Design, Centre for Building Biology & Studio Naqshbandi, Auroville

COURSE Background

In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sacred Groves, Centre for building biology and Earthauz Architecture & Design has decided to collaborate to migrate its learning programs online and offer a diverse range of students the same content in Natural Building that it previously offered on-campus. Of course minor modifications are necessary but the team feels this will make the course content more application oriented with practical building projects that are specifically designed for the student’s local context. Hence the name Pr-Academic- a combination of practise and academics- design and real-building!

Each student who successfully completes the PrAcademic program would become a Delegate who in turn will spread the word of practical Natural Building with diplomatic zeal effectively leading Regeneration projects in their local context.

course objectives

  1. To set students firmly on the path of discovery of Regeneration principles.

  2. To equip students with the skills of integration & synthesis to handle Regeneration challenges.

  3. To develop local practical micro-projects in Regeneration across India and the world.

  4. To generate proactive diplomats for the emerging field of Regenerative Architecture in the world.

SCOPES & LIMITATIONS

Given the fact that only a few days in the course would be with live/field sessions it becomes imperative that the online environment is well adapted to the needs of hands-on learning. Therefore we will restrict a lot of the content on Natural Building to suit the specific situations of each student. One of the limitations would be the lack of one-on-one time with each student which is not an issue in the field. We will address this by building in peer-learning in triads. However there are limitations to such learning. The 2-day field session after the Design Summit would support the RA Delegates to orient to the essentials of learning by doing.
