Colorado Student Media Association 2024 Awards 

Rangeview 2024 Award Winners from the Colorado Student Media Association. We entered into 15 categories against thirty-plus other schools and we came away with NINE awards. Particularly of note were Ifeomah Ugeh's first place win for top podcast, Carolynn Ames coming in second as the state's top columnist, Ione Narajka winning three awards, sophomore Tatiana Holguin earning second place in commentary, and a second place finish for Lifestyle Coverage.

City of Aurora Parks and Recreation 


We Are Aurora Youth is a program designed to give the youth of Aurora a fun and safe place to hang out during school breaks. Youth can participate in multiple opportunities such as basketball, volleyball, swimming, gym games, cooking classes, gift card competitions, video game stations, and more!


Our 2024 Summer Break program will take place on weekdays from May 28-Aug. 2


FREE entry is offered through this program to youth who are 13-18 years old and Aurora residents. The free entry is available on Monday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m. at the participating recreation centers listed below. Youth must check in at the front desk of the recreation centers upon their first visit to provide basic registration information and receive their free pass for this program.


Aurora Public Schools provides free meals for youth ages 18 & under in the lobbies of the three recreation centers between approximately 2-6 p.m., or until all meals have been handed out. 


This program applies to the following three locations:


Central Rec Center - 18150 E. Vassar Place

- Free recreation center admission from noon-7 p.m. on weekdays. 

- Staff-guided activities from 4-7 p.m. in the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

- Includes basketball games, volleyball, activities, snacks, and gift card competitions. 


Moorhead Rec Center - 2390 Havana Street

- Free recreation center admission from noon-7 p.m. on weekdays.

- Staff-guided activities from 4-7 p.m. in the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

- Includes basketball games, volleyball, activities, snacks, and gift card competitions.


Southeast Rec Center - 25400 E. Alexander Drive

- Free recreation center admission from noon-7 p.m. on weekdays. 

- Staff-guided activities from 4-7 p.m. in the gym on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
