Hi! I’m Will Gayhart, and I’m excited to return to the Vista PEAK Prep community this year, teaching Integrated Math 1 — our school’s version of Algebra 1.

I grew up in Chicago, studied Management at Purdue University, and moved to Colorado to continue my career as a software engineer at IBM. But eventually, I realized I wanted my work to mean more — so I switched gears, headed to grad school in Montana, and became a teacher. 

Since then, I’ve taught:

• In Chicago Public Schools for 5 years

• At an international school in the Philippines for 4 years

• In Denver Public Schools as both a math teacher and tech coordinator

• And now, I’m in my 6th year at Vista PEAK, including 1 year at Exploratory and now 5 at Prep

That’s over 20 years of experience — and I still love what I do. I’m especially passionate about using technology in smart, meaningful ways to improve learning. I even earned a Master’s in Information and Learning Technologies from CU Denver to keep pushing that work forward.

Outside of school, I stay busy with my four kids — two are juniors here at Vista PEAK Prep, and two little ones (ages 3 and 1) are future Bison in training.
