MOA Awards 2018
Date: Wednesday 7th November
Time: Everyone to be seated by 6:50pm, with platters and food. The event will start at 7pm SHARP.
Venue: Sandfords Event Centre, Opunake
Dress: This is your opportunity to get dressed up in your number 1s! Great to see you in formal attire!
Seating: Students to sit at the front in their school area and Parents/Family to sit on round tables and upstairs. If you bring siblings of finalists, we encourage them to sit with the school at the front and be part of the night. This will also allow more space around the tables.
Our finalists for the MOA Awards have been announced yesterday, with the Educational Video and Senior Animation still to come. Huge congratulations to the finalists, and to everyone who put in some fantastic work this year. The quality keeps improving each time we hold this event, and there have been some great entries that haven't made the Awards evening. Unfortunately not everyone's work can be showcased on the night, it would take a venue much bigger than the Sandfords Event Center if we tried!!! But again, thanks to all those students and parents who took the time to be creative this year.
We are asking for some help on Wednesday the 7th to help set up, from 9am onwards. This is the bulk of the work in setting up chairs and tables, blowing balloons etc. If you can help out can you please let me know.
We will also need a few helpers on the 8th to help tidy up. Again, if you can help, please let me know.
Tickets are a gold coin donation per ticket.
Due to the restricted number of seating in the Events Center, we are restricting tickets to the finalist and four family members. If you have siblings who are finalists, then you will be able to get two tickets for the finalists, and four family members (sorry, two finalists does not double the number of family members you can bring!)
Tickets will be at a premium, and are going fast so you need to get in quick to get yours. As they will be limited, please only take how many you need. If you no longer require any tickets you have, please return them as soon as possible to the office.
Any tickets not collected by Monday will be opened up to anyone who wants to get them to a maximum of 5. If there are any left by the end of Monday, we will be distributing them to schools who may need more.
Goodie bags will be available for pre order at the school office - $5 per bag. They contain some lollies and a fizzy drink. Just the thing to keep the students' energy up during the night!
All proceeds from the tickets and goodie bags go directly back into subsidising the cost of the event.
You can pre-order platters on the form below (to be added soon). Platters are to be picked up prior to the event from Soul Kitchen at the Events Center.
All students attending are allowed to travel by classic car to the event. Students from all of the schools gather on the deck outside Opunake School, and the amazing Classic Car Club members ferry students to the Event Centre in style! Parents need to be pre seated and we supervise students on the deck and into the Event Centre.
