We are excited to announce the start of our Freshman Bootcamp today during the achievement period! This weekly program is designed to help students enhance their academic performance. We will focus on building essential skills such as organization, time management, and goal setting.
Students will also receive guidance on understanding credits, tracking grades, managing missing assignments, and coping with stress. Our primary goal is to assist freshmen struggling in their classes, helping them stay on top of their workload, and develop the habits necessary for success in high school.

Fire 1 began flowing water this week! They practiced various techniques for advancing a charged hose line.
Mrs. Bowerman accompanied five students to the Forestry Challenge, where they received training on essential industry skills from professional foresters. The group toured Shasta College's HELO site, where students could create their own timber harvest plans and present them to the foresters. By participating, students also earned one college credit.
With 16 students in attendance, all eagerly learned new leadership skills that will benefit them in life and within FFA. It was an amazing experience! All the students said they had a great time and can’t wait to use the leadership skills they learned!
We took students to Farm City Day at the Shasta District Fair, where our chapter provided volunteers to help teach classes about various agricultural practices and sciences! Fourth graders enjoyed visiting different stations, with roping, dairy, and wild horses being some of their favorites! We’re thrilled to have had the chance to share our passion for agriculture with the kids!

We are excited to announce a collaborative initiative between the Agriculture (Ag) Department and the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department to create a chicken coop on campus. This project aims to expand our Ag Department's hands-on learning opportunities and provide students with practical experience in poultry management and agricultural practices.
The chicken coop will serve as a living laboratory where students can engage in various aspects of poultry care, including feeding and habitat management. This initiative enhances our agricultural curriculum and fosters teamwork and innovation among students from both departments. We look forward to this project's positive impact on our students' education and skills development.
The West Valley Drumline is gearing up for its first public performance at the October home games. It will proudly march in the Homecoming parade. The students are excited and eager to showcase their hard work!
The West Valley Choir has started harmonizing, a challenge with only four students, but they are rising to the occasion and doing an amazing job as they prepare their solos.
The West Valley Band is making significant strides, moving beyond beginner exercises and now diving into music with multiple parts and harmonies. Their progress in learning is truly commendable.
We were thrilled to have our largest turnout in years for the first Cosplay Club meeting of the year, with 14 students in attendance! This is an exciting milestone for the club and a great sign of growing interest.
The Dice Club is off to a great start! We currently have 15 kids signed up, and a few more came by today to find out more. In the first shot, some kids are engaged in a bluffing card game called Coup, while others discuss the games they want to play once Eagle Vision starts.
