This past week, Mrs. Smith’s Culinary 1 students rolled up their sleeves and made pasta from scratch as part of their Italian food unit. From mixing and kneading to rolling and cutting, students embraced the hands-on experience of crafting fresh pasta. The kitchen was filled with laughter, flour-covered countertops, and, most importantly, delicious results! Buon appetito!
Our Construction Technology 1 students are hard at work adding the final touches to the custom-built stands for the West Valley Attendance Office Secretary desks. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail shine through as they wrap up this hands-on project. Seeing their skills in action is great, creating something functional and professional for our school!
There’s nothing better than seeing our students outside, soaking up the sunshine, staying active, and enjoying time with their friends. Lunchtime has been full of energy, and with the kickoff of our highly anticipated G.O.A.T. Cornhole Tournament, the competition is heating up!
The tournament officially started on Wednesday and is now in full swing. With up to four sets of boards in play, teams are battling it out, showing off their skills, and aiming for cornhole glory. It’s been a fantastic way to bring students and faculty together for some friendly competition and fun. Let the games continue! 🎯🏆
Summer College Bound!
Mrs. Sundquist, Mrs. Long, and Mrs. Tierney have been tirelessly working to help our students enroll in Shasta College Summer Courses—their hard work is paying off! So far, around 50 students have signed up, and the number is continuing to grow.
From early mornings to late emails, they’re making sure our students have the opportunity to jumpstart their college journey. Huge thanks to this dynamic trio for making it happen!
Day one of the California FFA State Convention is in the books, and our 25 members and all four advisors are fired up for the next three days of inspiration, learning, and leadership! The energy and excitement are high, and we’re ready to make the most of this incredible experience.
Stay tuned—there’s plenty more to come!
If there’s one thing we’ve learned this season, it’s that spring sports in Northern California come with a free weather app subscription and a crash course in last-minute schedule changes. Rain, wind, and the occasional sunshine have kept us all on our toes—coaches, parents, and athletes alike. When we think we have a game plan, Mother Nature throws in an extra practice… or an unexpected day off.
Despite the chaos, our West Valley athletes are showing up and showing out! From rain-soaked fields to sun-drenched sidelines, they’re bringing their A-game and representing with pride. No matter what the forecast says, one thing is certain—our teams are unstoppable (even if our schedules aren’t!).
Here’s to hoping for smoother skies ahead, but if not… at least we’re getting good at adapting!
